    2008 TBSS AWD FWD? help

Hi Folks brand new and need some help. (ps forget title I meant rwd)

My dad is a gm employee and they just offered 8000 off trailblazers so with gms pricing and 8K off I think I am going to get the TBSS!! woot.

    Here is my dilema -

of the available ones in my area

    3ss fully loaded AWD
    1ss awd
    1ss fwd

basically with trade I am looking at

    20K
    14K
    12K

Money is not so much an issue as I could afford the 20K over 5 years. I live in Cleveland so you would think awd would be a natch but I have a 2006 LT AWD TB and have really only needed 4x4 once, maybe twice in two years.

So basically - is the 6k worth it for all the options given they are probably phasing out the TB all together (by all I mean every option + nav and dvd)

go with the 1ss AWD or get the cheapest at 12K for the RWD...

I mean awd is great when you need it but from what I have read - it puts more stress on the tranny - and with stabilitrack etc - the rwd does pretty good in bad weather.

    HELP ..and thanks!

if your just looking for a performance vehicle, i say basic RWD. the weight savings and less resistance through the driveline will help out. but if your going to use it as your daily driver the AWD might be something you want. i'm the same way, i've only needed my AWD once or twice, but when you do need it its a darn good thing you have it!

and BTW, welcome to the site!

I'm not going to be racing at all other than to have an svu that can embarass most nubs at the light...

IMHO AWD...it's like an extension ladder...you don't always need it but when you do, you're glad you have it. When I bought my truck I was in the same boat. I went with a 4x4 on the off chance I would need it some day. Welcome to the site!

If you aren't going for high HP, then +1 on AWD.

    RWD for sure.

There's a reason they're not making the GMT360 any more. I often wonder why there were even 05's made.

No offense to the high end ones and the newer ones but what a Vega/Fiero/Allante' these have been...at least at the start 02-04 for sure....

If you get an AWD TBSS, plan on having transmission problems and buying a built transmission after your warranty is up. And if you want to keep your warranty, don't even put an aftermarket intake on it.... Leave it stock. If you plan on not modding it then you will be okay, if something breaks take it in for warranty work. I can tell you at 3k miles your going to need to change your rear end fluid, there is a TSB out on this as well. Go search around on the tbssowners.com site and see how many with AWD want to convert to 2wd.
