Is the throttle body on an 05 5.3 an ls1 or ls2 style?

    LOL Quik!

Ok...gay-by-wire = drive-by-wire...or it doesn't have the cable on it. the LS2 style is better--partly because it is 90mm. You might have to do a little fabrication to get an LS2 TB on your 5.3L intake manifold...

Well I was thinkin I wanted to do an intake. I have ls1 style injectors so will an ls6 intake work with my stock tb? I read that thread over on ls1tech about intakes and boost. I kinda started thinkin a different intake is just gonna be a wast of money.?

waste of dollars you ask me, txsilverado, v8 and another provided numbers with the ls6 intake and didnt gain anything, now if you wanna go 90mm tb then go with a tbss intake,..

Also if you switch from drive by wire to cable, youll have to redo the pcv system. Not complicated, but Ls1 oil breathers are on the throttle body. Drive by wires are on the end of the intake, then pass through the tbody.

the money youll have for a TBSS swap you might as well do a Fast 90/92 swap
i havent run the same times since swapping to the ls6 intake

    V8 slowed down with a ls6

01thunders truck slowed down with the LS6...

ive seen a few people gain. 2 of them were switching from the ls1 style to the ls6 intake. thats where the proven power is. i beleave that the truck intake is equal to, if not superrior to the LS6 intake manifold.

the ls6 manifold will help if you have a 5.3-6.0 and have a cam.
in a 4.8 all I would do is port your stock tb, you wont need anything bigger and the little bit of extra low end tq means allot for that little motor.

I just picked up an ls6 intake with a ported ls1 tb and will be installing it on my motor. but I have a head/cam/full bolt-on 6.0. on a 4.8 or 5.3 I would just stick to the stock one and do the small free upgrades too it.(coolant blockoff and port the tb)
    s10 with 4l60e and cammed 5.3 on the road!THREAD

    i have a heads/cam LS1 and got zero gains from the LS6.
