    Lift it, Slam it, or bag it?

    Im not sure if I want to lift or lower my truck. Help me make my decision. 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic RCSB. Im thinking about bagging it so I can do both, but Im afraid it will interfere with launches at the track. Anyone have bags see any unneccessary body roll or problems with them?


    2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 4.3L V6
    Magnaflow Muffler, CFM Technologies CNC Machined High Flow Vortec Throttle Blades, STS Rear Turbo, Intercooler, Accell Distributor and Coil, 8mm wire, Autolite Platinum plugs, Runs out of fuel at 4000RPM. Marine intake with larger injectors soon. Hoping to squeeze 10psi.

    If anything a properly setup bag job will decrease your body roll, and help with your launches at the track. Thats assuming that the rear suspension is setup properly. My personal truck has bags on it with 4link and hooks very well at the track. We did speedaddicks truck on here with bags and he has a built 5.3 running 10psi of boost with 265/35/22s in the rear, he can't spin the tires launching on the street.

    Ok, if im thread jacking I apologize in advance. Im going to be bagging my truck real soon and plan on using a triangulated 4link but not quite sure where the bag should be mounted. I have heard that mounting it to the lower bar gives you more lift but also a lot of wheel hop. I really dont care about a lot of lift just as long as I can get a decent ride height. With that said, I was advised to run the bag over the axle to control the wheel hop better. I have heard that this gives a rougher ride. My ? to you is where would you suggest the bag be mounted to get a good ride with minimal wheel hop? Thanks.

    A lifted 2wd with a turbo'd 4.3L V6??? Are ya'll kidding? He just installed the STS turbo kit for nothing then cause big tires and all the extra weight of the lift is going to rob alot of power.

    And to think I posted my thoughts in the power adder topic for this truck. The next guy that says DBTBSS is stupid.......is stupid. Not only did he figure this out, but he gets paid to lean on a shovel and watch others work.

    Ok to start off, your body style truck really doesn't like a triagulated four link. The frame rails aren't wide enough to give the upper bars enough angle to center the rearend properly without some axle movement. If your looking at doing it yourself KP Components has a real nice kit, as well as Air Ride Technologies. Both of those kits are parrallel. There are thousands of ways to put in a 4link but only a few correct ways. If you fab something yourself your better off with a tapered sleave bag mounted behind or infront of the axle i.e. firestone F9000 or f9001. That will give you a excellent ride. If you mount the bags on the lower bars on a lever ratio you need to use double convoluted bags. The weight of the truck, size of bag, determines where the bag should be placed. You can also get a excellent ride this way. There is a lot of stuff involed to get a properly working system. It doesn't matter how the bags are on a 4link system, you should never get any wheel hop period. Unless the 4link it installed horribly wrong. I tried not to make it so long, and it's hard to get into great detail.

    Well put. Im not doing the install myself. A guy who used to work at Chaotic and now works with his father will be doing it for me. So a triangulated 4link is not my best option then? I looked into the KP and ART stuff but for the $, the route I explained plus the compressors, bags, and everything else just seemed more economical and more suited to a performance application or so I thought. If I was to bring my truck to you what would you recommend and how much cheese would it run? Feel free to pm me if you would like to get more specific. Thanks for your insight.
