    4.8L Cam Question

My Buddy has a 4.8L and his current mods are Headers and a Wheatley Tune.

He wants to put a cam in, and is going to do a stall at the same time.

Now my question is what Cam should he get? What Specs? He doesnt plan on spraying of FI, so it would need to be a good N/A Cam.

    TIA

    Daniel

I would say that a cam like what Lambchop got would be good.

it is when i know people are just wanting a little more power and nothing to serious

now with people like you and a few others there is no to big word because i know what you guys are wanting to accomplish and you have the balls to take it to the extreme and if it blows that just means upgrades...but to some that means they are out a DD and a few more bucks that they might not have had to start out

The cam i put in my truck is pretty nice(its in my sig).. it really starts pulling at about 3700, and continues to put you in your seat till you shift.(at least for the 4.8 motor i think it does pretty good) if you want something for the lower rpm range, get something with a little bigger LSA. From what i've heard, this cam won't react well to FI,(which is perfect for your friend) and now that i've been thinking about FI, it may be time to start cam shopping again some time in the distant future. It has a nice lope too at 650 which is where i had my idle set at for awhile... But now that i'm living in NY for awhile, i had the idle set to 800, so that way when my brothers drive my truck they aren't constantly stalling it.. Just my 2 cents.
