    Open Exhaust Powerband Shift

Ok guys, I have a noob exhaust question. This weekend I bolted up my LT's/ORY and running it through my open cutout, right past the connection of the ORY to the stock pipe. I love the sound and it really screams up-top, but long story short I miss my torque. I think I've decided on the Borla XR-1 Sportsman muffler. My concern is that the flow-through design won't produce enough backpressure to (re)build up my lowend, and I'll be right back at square one: no power until high RPM's. I know Dodges are noone's cup of tea around here but I'd appreciate any input from the gurus. Thanks guys

hmmm, ya you need backflow, not sure what motor is on there or what you are putting the ORY on, but on my 5.3L the true duals seem to have a little less tourque than the 3" to one muffler, but the duals scream up top and the truck really pulls.

Oops, good point. Motor is Dodge 5.7 in '04 Quad Cab. Guess I'll just have to decide between high or low end power, but still wondering if that muffler would at least help balance?

ya as far as i know most modern engines are designed with a certain amount of backpressure needed. I would hop on over to PT.net and get on the dodge truck forum and post up, they have a lot of guys over there. otherwise try it out and if it doesnt work then youll have to take a small hit and re sell it.
