Will an interior swap affect the wiring for my 6.0/4l80e swap?

my current goal is to swap a 6.0/4l80e (or maybe just a 5.3 for now) into my 94 TBI 350. however, i also would like to swap to the 95+ style dash. given that i am unfamiliar with exactly what is getting spliced and wired into what in regards to the swap from TBI to GEN III, i was wondering if doing this interior swap (gauges and all) would make matters easier or worse. i had hoped to have a completely new stand alone harness and use the 02 computer to drive all gauges and dash functions as i understand it is able to, would having the 95+ style dash and gauges in place just mean that I would want to order a harness for the newer style vehicle? i would like to keep it all as clean as possible so the less extra wires floating around and the less rats nesty it can be, the better.

    thanks

It should make things worse. Not impossible, but you are going to need some detailed schematics( of original truck, of donor engine, of donor dash) and basic electrical knowledge of relays, switches, fuse blocks, etc. I have the GM electrical manual of my 91 truck, so i have 1/3 of the diagrams i NEED. I am at the beginning stage of what you're describing, 98 dash in 91 Silverado with 5.3 and T-56. Stay tuned, i will open a thread when i have all the parts and begin the fun!

thats somewhat what i was afraid of.

i will have to get ahold of the schematics and talk to some more people, but what i was hoping was that since the engine will be stock for neither a 94 or a 95-98, that maybe i can just replace everything under the dash with the 95-98 harness and mate that to the GEN III harness as I plan to have the newer computer run everything and eliminate all possible old 94 controls.

well i am definitely leaning towards doing my own wiring, so i guess its just going to be a lot of studying schematics and wiring diagrams to get it all right. I think in the end though it could end up better because I will have a much better understanding of how its all going together.
