93 rearend in a 2000?
I need a posi/ locker unit bad. I got a buddy whose trading in his 93 1/2 ton rcsb and it has a locker unit in it. I have a 2000 rcsb and want to swap the whole axle housing with him. Both trucks are 10 bolt and are 6 lug. I think his has drum brakes, but mines disc? Does this sound like a dream to me or can it be done pretty easily?
if his locker is the G80 that GM put in it, don't waste your time on it.
I talked to him last night...the truck was bought used and the previous owner put an eaton locker in it...we're not sure about much else than that. Thanks for any help you can give me though.
just swap locker for your unit..

Eaton makes the G80. Hopefully that is not what he is talking about... IMHO, go with a new Detroit TrueTrac unit. I have run and installed both types, and the Detroit is waaay better.
