    Thinking of selling...

...the C10. Not that I'm broke or anything, but the enthusiasm has shifted to 2-wheel cruisers. I've done almost all of what I set to accomplish. Sure there's another '86 Silvy that's gone TOTAL restoration, but my pockets aren't so deep. All I have left to do is fab AC lines to ride cool in the summer, finish tuning to optimize AFR for better performance and mileage, and add gear additive to the rear end. The truck's fun to drive, but I've had about as much fun in it as I want. I don't have time to get to the track anymore (wife & 3 kids), and running on the street is not an option (safety & law enforcement). It's nice to have a paid for vehicle that happens to be a spare ride when needed. Plus, I can get 18mpg on the highway, with it running pig rich right now. But... I dunno. (sad, isn't it?)

Question is... what's a reasonable price to sell for, should I decide to pull the trigger?

Nice truck, but even with all of your recent mods and restored pieces, I doubt you'll get anything more than $5k.

I've gotten offers before on MANY occassions for that amount. I've spent a bit more on it than that, but I don't expect to get an a$$load of money out of it in return. Just inquiring about people's honest opinion on what they think it's worth.

I do remember someone selling that style truck (unfinished) a while back with an LS1 b/t the rails for $6K (on eBay). But, $5K is in (and close to) the number I was thinking.

That is one clean truck! If you wait it out and find the right buyer I bet you could get as much as 7500. I think at 5000 it is a steal and I would jump all over it myself but I have other priorities right now but again nice truck!

I wouldn't sell it man, like you said the fact that its paid off and all the work you put into it, well I know I would have a hard time parting with it.

ls182... That's the figure that's been tossed at me for nearly 2 years. I've opened people's eyes after I show them what's been modified under the hood. Your truck is SWEET! Wish I had the money to do a total resto.

hwy... I've been in this train of thought about 3 times over the past few years. I always get talked out of it. LOL Hence, the reason I'm not 100% sold on letting it go. I dunno. If I get the AC stuff worked out, I might have to delete this thread. Ha ha ha...

bro ask yourself this, do you need the money,do you have a place to store it? if no and yes then dont, you mention you have kids, any boys?, i bet when they get old enough to drive, one of them will luv to have it, sounds like a hard decission but is it really? i sold my harley when i started modding my truck, well now i am thinking of buying another lol just cause of gas prices and how far i live from work, 68 miles one way (sux) wish i never sold the bike wasnt like i had to.. but i did.. now i have to listen to the wife say i told you so ...

Funny you should mention commute.... I drive 50 miles (each way) to/from work. It'd definitely save on gas to have a bike. I'm hesitant to sell right now b/c the hurricane season is knockin' on South La's door. Just this past weekend, it rained hard enough to flood the street with water. The C10 can barely wade through, but it'll make it. Wife's Armada rides a little taller than the C10. Having the pickup does help. A buddy of mine called and asked if I could haul a dining room set from the store to his home. Can't do that in an Armada.

May not sell.... but... that depends on the cash. There's a late 60's model RS that I see on the way home from work, and it's eggin' for me to stop and ask the owner what's the asking price!

Thanks for the compliment! I get the same reaction when I open my hood, "What the hell is that!", "Man that is sweet how did you get that in there!".
It feels pretty good to get compliments after going threw all the time and money it takes for projects like this. If you dont need to get rid of it then dont cuz you will regret it later on. Then you will take another project on to get what you already had but it will be even harder cuz I doubt you will find another truck as clean as yours to start with.

I agree with the others. I have had various things along the way that I have let go and been sick afterwards. The key to it all is it is paid for and like was said above one of those little ones may want it to carry on where dad left off, just something to think about.
