im thinkin about changing tunes cuz of gas prices and its my DD, i have nelson 93 performance tune right now...would i lose lots of power with the 87 economy tune?? and would it be worth it for the extra mpg if any?? if anyone has done this id like to know the results, thanks!!

not really and you would only spend prolly $100 extra a year on 93 versus 87 anyway....you would use 500 galons to spend an extra $100 worth of gas using 93...thats alot of gas at 25-27 galons per fillup....20 fillups

i get 15 mpg on the 93 tune with $4.00 extra for 93 each fill up, and i fill up every 4 to 5 days, so if the 87 can get me to say 18mpg with saving 4.00 at fill up it would be worth it....im a college kid right now i dont have much money to throw away lol

IMO the higher the octane the better gas milage you would get. This is what I have always been told your not saving any money..yeah it may be cheaper to fill up with 87 but your doing more than you would with 93 so IMO keep what ya got and if your that worried get a beater.

I knew I kept your mom around for a reason!

Yeah, Brad is right. If you take your average car that runs on 87 octane normally and run several consistent tanks of 93 octane, the car will get better mpg.

And I am not saying what I did the the right thing to do, but to keep the miles off my truck, to pollute less, and to save a few pennies on gas--I got myself a fuel-efficient, 4-cylinder DD. You might wanna consider the same...

yeah, it is kind of a hassle having 2 cars, but to me its worth it.

Dude, the MazdaSpeed 3 is one badass car. It is worth it. I could go on and on--spit out every spec on the car--but since you mentioned it, I am sure you know enough about it to where I don;t need to say anything. If you need confirmation--I give it two thumbs way up!
