    rear end help

    so i blew up my pumpkin. its done for sure. what am i in for. price wise? parts wise? im pretty savy with mechanics. would it be better to just grab one from a junk yard? i really just need some price estimates and pointers

    eaton lsd or detroit locker runs about 400 or so, master install kit is not to bad..

    I'm pretty sure. Crush sleeve and everything. Someone will chime in with more info here in a bit im sure.

    you'll probably need new ring & pinion gears also.

    tru trac 450
    bearing kit 100
    misc crap 50

    the bearing kit will come with the carrier bearing and the pinion bearings.. and all the seals
    I am gonna be a new Daddy...

    i just did this dude you can get a new detroit off of ebay for about 442$ with the install kit, shims all that crap, 4:10 gears 125$ on summit, then about 30-50 bucks for the oil, white lithium, that kinda crap. by the way if you cant find one on ebay check out Ring And Pinion Gears, Axles and Axle Shafts, Drivetrain Parts and Tools - Accu Auto Parts detroit true track for 444$ then like 80$ for the install kit.

    Well, how bad did you grenade it? Are the gears shot? Best case scenario, you are looking at $440 for a TrueTrac shipped to your door. Worst case, you are looking at just over $600. But these prices do not include labor...

    well i have 3.73s and i just spent 400$ on a new ibanez but i did find a complete rear end off a 05 silverado with 3.73's about 100 miles away for 200$ so im just gonna swap[ it, build the destroyed one and swap back. cant beat 200$. ill take the cover off and throw up some pics tonight for you all
