    Transfer engine blown..

    hi, bad news.. last tuesday, i got my truck back from the shop where they installed the transgo shift kit and the vette's servo.. so.. i plug in the nelson tuned pcm.. anyways.. everything was cool, till i got on wednesday to rocky point where i wanted to race my truck in the sand hill.. so.. i went to the hill, and when i tried to put the 4wdLOW, i just woulnt get it on.. i heard the noise when it was engaging, but at the same time, disengaging... (4wd hi did work at that time) so i went back to the hotel, and took my truck to a mechanic.. he had a blown transfercase from a 05' silv and he got some parts out of it, and put them in mine.. he told me it was a worn out disc... so.. he did the job, but when he put it back.. the 4wd engine wouldnt work at all.. the 4wd lights in the dash shut off.. so they are off right now no 4wd at all.. and the screen says 4wd service... WHAT HAPPENED? sorry about the loong story, but keep in mind i spend the whole year doing researching and investments in my truck just for this week.. and is kinda crappy that it didnt work out..

    I wish I could help you bud but I dont Know sh*it about 4 wheel drive. This is my second truck with it and the first one I never had a problem with and I didnt want it on this one but I got a killer deal.

    Dude, it might just be fluke deal. You should have not touched anything when doing the shift kit or servo. If you did, it was by accident. How did the install go anyway? Did you have any troubles? Or did it go smoothly?

    I would take your truck to an AutoZone and have them use their scanner on it. See what it says. If anything, there might have been a hiccup in the tune somewhere. First have it scanned, then get a new PCM. Once you get it scanned, let us know what you find out...

    oh yeah.. the vette's servo and shift kit was pretty easy, took us for about 5 hrs.. and it did really improve the 1-2 gear.. other than that.. still the same! i took my truck to the dealer, and the mechanic said that the engine was blown.. that'll be $1000 deal.. =(

    Blown engine? dealer? 1000 bucks? That dont sound right. Unles they are going to give you a new engine get a second opinion. Aint no dealer going to rebuild a engine for 1000 bucks!!

    I have a 4x4 truck and my Service 4x4 light will come on at completely random times like when im on the highway. Ive had it checked out and the fluid replaced and they told me nothing was wrong with it, it was just throwing a code, but you did put it in Neutral before trying to shift into 4Lo right?

    yes sir, i put it in neutral.. actually, the 4wd HI light will go ON, but the 4wd wont work.. the truck just spins with the rear tires... and yes, they told me 1000 bucks for a new engine... does anyone know how can i find that little engine on ebay? i mean, how can i look for it? transfer engine or...?
