If your wheelin with pretty low gears and not just going to beat on it, the tranny will live for a bit. Mine is still together with double the stock output, It depends on ho hard you are on it. Im changing mine out when I put my 6L in. I got my 6L from pace performance, they offer new long block kits that will work or you can get a low mileage salvage motor. good luck

    long post

gears will be no lower the 4.56 i got a jeep to beat on , i love the fierst gear in the tranny and it is low range going down a steep hill it is perfect lite wheeling truck , i hate the 3 sumthing gears in the axle thought got to downshift way to much to carry any speed over a hill and it is not fair to 4.8 to ask it to pull my jeep 4500# plus tralier wight , hence the need/ want for a 6.0l , you got a link for the place you saied .
