Dipstick troubles.

Hey guys, The dipstick I have in the 6.0L is the same length as the one in my 4.3L and I don't think that's right. I put 6 quarts in and it doesn't come up the dipstick too far. Could anybody measure their dipstick on the 6.0L so I know what length it's supposed to be. My dealer says that there are 2 different dipsticks available for that year. Thanks.

It's different. My 4.3 one was way different than the 5.3. I don't know if I have a part number for the dipstick. If I do it's lost somewhere in the mountain of receipts I have. Just go to the dealer and get them to pull it up. They should be able to do it quickly. Unless they are jackasses like so many I ran into during the time I was doing my swap.

Yeah, the guys at my dealership don't like to help when it comes to playing with a swap. I'll have to go bug them again. The first time I went, they said there were 2 different possibilities. How could that be? It's just a dipstick. I was pretty sure that one that came in it was wrong. Thanks

Some service managers can be morons sometimes...you kinda have to have luck when calling up there--sometimes you get a jerkoff, sometimes you get one that is cool...
