What kit do you have? My Mcgaughys kit did not have shims or need them. I fgured it out after I bought shims stuck them in and then reread the damn directions. No shims needed.

its belltech, but i think it needs some. looks like the rearend has to much upward angle. the rearend is sitting at 8 degrees and the driveshaft is at 3 degrees. if you look up the rear kits it shows that it comes with shims i just cant find out which ones. gary

I have a 4inch rear Bell tech drop and it came with aluminum shims in the kit. Yes you need to shim it or your going to wear your rear end out faster than normal. Also make sure to align you rear end side to side equally before you tighten up the U bolts.

when I did my 2/4 drop the kit came like this, Hotchkis 4" Lowering Leaf Pack With Special Carrier Bearing Bracket, Transmission Spacer, Shims And Polyurethane Bump Stops Are Included With Each Spring Set. #2403.

from what i read 1* shim per 1" drop.

    hope this helps
