    problems anyone has experienced

trying to find out if my fuel filter is plugged, wondering if anyone has had a plugged filter and what was going on?

Pull the filter and see if you can blow through it. Easy to change anyway. Do it every 15k I have heard. I have not changed mine in about 20k

well my problem is when i kick down the gas pedal on my 99 tahoe 5.7,4l60e it doesnt want to get moving past cruising speed, rpm's dont jump up and peg like a trans slip, just wondering if a filter would cause major loss of power on kickdown?

Cats are most likely plugged. Replace the fuel filter first and check the fuel pressure but I would guess you're fighting a plugged cat.

Dude, it could be several things--including the clogged fuel filter. It could be timing, a bad distributor, bad distrubutor rotor or cap, fouled-out spark plugs, an arching spark plug wire, bad fuel pump, clogged fuel lines, etc. The FIRST thing I would look at (considering your symptoms) with the OBS Tahoe (5.7 Vortec) is the Fuel Slider. They tend to go bad after 5-6 years or so. Have a mechanic look at it or you can replace it yourself. They are about $60. Let us know what you find out...
