    i think somethings wrong with my truck

    well, let me give you a little background info. first i changed the spark plugs in my silverado and gained a few psi, centrifigal supercharger. so i thought i should change then on my sub, but its a sidemount old style magnuson, so i was looking at it trying to decide if i was gonna take the super off or not and i loosened one worm clamp then decided to just become stretch armstrong and snake my hand up in there and changed them. but i forgot about the worm clamp. till a few days later when i was trying everything i could think of to find out why my truck was runnig like garbage. including changing back to the stack stat. i noticed the clamp.
    well now i have my new tune and im knocking like crazy. this is my family hauler so i drive it alot and cant have this. so i added like 3 bottles of octane booster to the tank. i think it helped some, but whenever i step on the gas and it passes 3 psi it lets out a string of knock. its wierd that i can boost 1 or 2 but not 3. and also if i just nail it its fine

    Does it need time to relearn? Did you put the lower Stat back in?

    yeah, i just put the 160 back in sunday, and i think its doing better. i'm paranoid now so i think everything is knock. i hope its better. but i am getting a p 1336 code. which is crank position sensor not learned. i dont know if thats related to the new tune or not. i didnt have any problems at all when i put the new tune in my silvy.

    The code the PCM is throwing IS from the new PCM. It will take a bit for it to relearn everything. Do you know someone who has a scanner to do a crank relearn? If this thing is the family DD, get it done now. A dealer will do it for $$$, but sometimes if you schmooze your way into the service area, you can have it done if you slip a tech a $20... If not, check with a decent mechanic in the area. He will charge you for an hour worth of work, even though it will only take 15-30 minutes. You will have to bite that bullet. Once the crank relearn is complete, go ahead and look over your engine compartment to make sure everyting is on the way it is suppose to be. Then--make sure you have the normal fuel (no octane booster) in the tank---drive it around like you normally do for 250-300 miles (a full tank of gas). The relearn should be complete by then.

    Yeah, it would help if you were to go into your profile and fill in the "location" information. If someone is near you with HPTuner software they can do the crankshaft relearn for you without having to buy a license for your PCM.

    sorry, i did now, i had that all filled in in the old forum, but i changed my name in the new one, and lost everything. well, i have a scanner, but nothing to do a relearn. so the stealership is the best place, i hate them, they tried to rip me off telling me i needed new brakes and rotors and wouldnt take no for an answer till i finally walked out. i went home and pulled my wheels off and checked and they were fine, pads were fine and rotors were perfect. tried to tell me i needed to pay like 1900 dollars. ass jockeys. so will a local mechanic be able to do this or is it something i can buy.
