The average STR is already 2.5:1

As far as the stall change, it's 1 time free within the 2 year warranty. Can be confirmed by the number stamped in the front cover of the converter (part that bolts to the flexplate).

The "upgrade" to change it to a multi-disc is based on the condition once it's there. Usually it's $385.00. The stock lining clutch surface is 19 square inches, the surface of the 3 disc setup is over 90 square inches.

What does this stuff mean? Well you can get a used PI converter for $400 (appx), have it restalled from pretty much 2600-4000rpms, AND get it converted to a multiclutch setup meaning it meets and exceeds the stock converter's lockup capacity. So in theory you should be easily able to tow with a multidisc lockup clutch and still lockup AND lock it up in 3rd on the strip for a few more MPH.

    Cool eh?

It shouldnt wig you pcm out but depending on what stall you get and how loose it is, you may want to change your lockup speeds for you driving pefrences.

Apparently a low stall (2400) from PI will stall to like 2600-2700 in a truck. I am beginning to think that is going to stall to like 3500rpms in your truck!
