so here's the horible question... are the transmission cooler lines on a 4l60e suppose to be tight? see i'm putting mine back together and i go to tighten the transmission cooler lines up and the nuts tighten up nice and snug but the actual lines themselves have play in them, i can just move them around. i didn't take them off so i can't really say what they were like when they were on. and while i'm at it does anyone know if there is any way to get around buying the new "electronic" gas pedal? my new 6L is throttle by wire and as far as i can see i have to buy a $400 gas pedal... gotta love technology!

    thanx for the help

I believe you can buy a new throttle body that is cable driven instead...might be the same amount of money though...not sure

The tranny cooler lines are quick disconnect type. There will be a little play in them. There is an oring and a spring clip involved for sealing.

There is more to the drive by wire than just the throttle pedal and t-body. If you are going that route(and they work well) you'll also need the TAC module. I had an 02 TAC module and pedal and an 03 t-body I got with my engine. Unfortunately 02 and 03 stuff doesn't interchange so I converted over to a mechanical t-body to get it up and running.

The cable-driven TB is the easiest setup to go with. I had someone convert one for me. I don't know about your local J/Y places, but the ones in BR don't like to sell the TBs off motors. Maybe you can coerce (sp?) a local shop to swap with ya. Worth a try.

Got my new cable throttle body off EBay.... was cheap... Your right, the local junkyards here also do not want to separate parts off their pull out engines....
