I have been thinking of removing the magnaflow highflow cats that I have behind the gibson shorties. Anyone think this would be a bad idea? Would I lose any low end or gain any top end? Im sure if I did I wouldnt be able to tell anyway. Would I see any losses in quality of sound? Ive got gibson shorties to a flowdisaster super 40 that has two turn downs. Would it sound raspy at all? Can Allen fix it to where the SES light wouldnt come on after removing the cats?

It'll sound raspy as hell, I ran the same setup without shorties and it didn't sound good IMO. You'll lose low end and gain high end I noticed that first thing. I'm not gonna have any cats with the 6.0, and it sounds ok right now. I think I'm going to run a full chambered exhaust system to get a hollow throaty sound(think LS1).

I like the sound of the f bodys and the mustangs. How would I go about getting that kind of sound out of my truck?

i have a video I may can post of how Alan's sounds, but it will have to wait till my mom gets back home with our camcorder before i can post it. His trucks with make your heart skip a bit that's how loud it is, and it definitely sounds illegal, but it sounds good for a truck with no muffler or cats haha. I love how fbodys and gt's sound thats the sound I'm going for on my truck when I do the exhaust. I think chambered exhaust is what makes it sound that way.

mine sounds similar to an fbody around 2200-2500 rpm ... for some reason the engine becomes alive and LOUD AS HELL from then on... im running the Lt's ORY, with straight 3 inch back from the Y... i used to have about 3 feet of pipe and then a 5" exhaust tip that acts like a megaphone making it louder.... now i have about 6 foot of pipe to before the rear axle with the same tip used as my dump for a little bit more backpressure... it was too quiet without the tip IMO lol.... its loud... when i am hungover... WAY too loud... and im sure i piss off my neighbors at 2 am when i come home.... but i like it

Stock manifolds, no cats, dual exhaust w/ 2 magnaflow 18" muffs:

First time at track with new motor

First time driving with new exhaust (window down explains the drafty background noise)

I am always told my sounds like a musclecar at WOT. I love mine at WOT for the sound, and cruising with low resonance. Thanks to Magnaflow! Flowmasters have always seemed too noisy and annoying at cruising speeds. That's just my .

The only way to make our trucks sound like a mustang is to buy a mustang or transplant the motor....nothin else sounds like a stang.I saw one tues night that sounds mean as hell...then I hit second and couldnt here that pony behind me!
