Well my alternater finally gave up the ghost as well did my battery.
Both lived a long life of 2 years. They are survived by the various other parts that belong to my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.
    Each item was upgraded tho.
For the alternator replacement i went with the 130A alternator for a Denali.
Seems to work pretty good considering that the stock alternator for theese trucks are 105A. Bolted right in. Its a tad bit bigger to diffinently noticable.
The stock battery was replaced with.............
    Get this.........

    A Red Top Optima battery.....WoooHooo!!!!!
Couldnt pass that one up. Walked in and it was calling to me.
"Pick me, Pick me" Anyways this setup is working pretty good for me. Considering all the electronic crap i have on the truck.
    1. Electric fans
    2. Fog lights
    3. 100 watt amp pushing two Infinity Kappa 10's
    4. Kenwood speakers in the doors and up near the headrest's
    5. A pioneer graphic equalizer/booster
    6. A Sony cd player CDX_740
    7. Head lights.
    8. Parking lights.
Guess thats abit much but hey i enjoy having it.

    "TO EACH THERE OWN"

    Later,

Nice upgrades, i'd like to know how that optima battery works out for you.

I've heard good and bad opinions and was wondering if they are working good.

Mine is getting kind of slow cranking the engine.

I am supprised it has lasted this long since I was starting to crap out at the shootout. I am supprised mine havent given up yet. 3 years on mine and I have as much ele stuff as you do plus the underdrive crank/overdrive alt pullies. My alt makes squeeley noises on occasion and gets pretty hot. I think I am on borrowed time.
Congrats on the new Electrical system.

yeah it lasted about another week before i had to jump it again and then the time just kept getting shorter and shorter between jumps untill finally it just wouldnt hold a charge at all. my alt was squeeling too before it went. sounded like a bad bearing. or something like that. but alas it is doing just fine right now.
my voltage stays at 14 volts most of the time and at night when i have most of the electrical stuff on it dips to about 12v and then comes back up to 14v.
i am assuming that it does this when the sudden surge for the e-fans kicks in then it levels out.
all - in - all its very nice.
