guys ive found something i think i dont like about my truck. im going for the smooth look(for the most part) and i was wondering what ya'll thought about filling the factory flares over the fenders? the lil eyebrow that is indented in the side of the 99-present trucks just doesnt look right to me. any one know of anybody who has ever done this? got pix? opinions? photoshopped pics?

It would be very slick looking, kinda like the new Tahoe. Would you fill in the crease below the windows?

like the mid-line near the lower 1/4 of the door? i would like to get ss cladding eventually and that would get rid of the bot indentions, but would still leave a line at that mid-line. i think the eyebrows being filled would look good, and the cladding would make my truck look lower than it is, cuz it extends down 3 or 4 inches i think maybe just 2 inches. its gonna be a while before any of this happens, but its something i just thought of last night looking at my sig pic.

it doesnt to me since i got a friend with a good fiberglass person, ill ask him how much work it would be. doing this though would require a new paintjob, not like i dont need a few things fixed in that dept. anyways

It would take bondo to fill the lines. alot of it. Its not like a dent where you can pull it out. And with that much bondo you will risk it cracking in the future. But I'm sure we can do it.

IMHO, since the fender is actually pressed outward, to get a smooth transition from the body panel to the fender, metal would have to be welded in and then body filler added to make the transition gradual and seamless. Otherwise if the transition is not gradual, all you will do is change the height of the bodyline. These fenders flex quite a bit on bumps and potholes, I personally would not trust just bondo to do the job, in the long term.

Any good bondo man can make it seamless and look better than welding a piece of metal in. The only questions would how long the Bondo would last, bc there would be stress on parts of it, and it will eventually start to crack with so much being layed.
