Hi. I have an 02 Escalade and an 03 H2 Hummer. The Escalade has 345 HP and the LQ9 motor. The Hummer 316 HP with the LQ4 motor. The cam specs. are the same and as far as I can tell the heads are the same other than the LQ4 has a slightly larter combustion chamber for higher compression. Does anyone know why the Escalade motor makes 29 more HP?

The LQ9 also has flat top pistons, that has a lot to do with the additional power.
Plus, the tuning is a big difference, GM can use all the same parts and call it whatever they want, and use tuning to determine the HP.
The LQ9 is pretty nice, and without it being detuned, it's good for close to 390hp. Some say 400hp.

    You need tuning, heheh,
