    01 lq4 in 98 2wd tahoe wiring help

Ok as titel says a 01 lq4 with an 01 2wd trans and a 0411 comp. Do i need the stock fuse-box from the 01 that the computer was removed from. I have the complete engine wiring harness but that's it along with the complete motor pullout?

You can keep your original vortec harness and just add a few wires. Pm lextech and see if he will email you his wiring file for the swap. It is very easy and painless.

Well i actually have the complete pullout, wiring harness, computer and all that the only thing i do not have is the fuse box. The tahoe that i have was a project from someone else so the wiring has all been disconnected from the fuse block but i still have it all. I had thought about just running a new 21 circuit wiring harness and removing the factory wiring in the tahoe.

No you don't need that. If you keep your original l31 harness you'll just have to add a few wires and extend a few more. Then it will lay in the engine compartment the way it should and does now. The new computer will be in the same spot as the old one and you'll just repin it to the new computer. I did use the wires I would have needed to add and extend from the donor harness so there wasn't any cutting and splicing. I didn't like the way the donor harness is routed, the l31 is much cleaner.
Even if you don't do it this way you still won't need the fuse box from the donor.

So will i still be using the 01 computer? It is drive by wire is the reason i ask b/c i have been told i will need this computer to run it. Or are you just saying ti use the engine harness and spl;ice it all into the stock harness that is in my 98 tahoe.

You will be using the 01 computer. Drive by wire is ok and uses it's own module. You can use your 98 original harness. You'll just be adding some wires to the harness from the computer to the engine and extending some wires that are there now. It sounds hard but when you actually start doing it it's very easy. You'll be taking the pins out of your 98s computer connector and inserting them into the 01s computer connector. You won't be messing with any fuse boxes.
Pm lextech and he will email you the swap file. After you read that it will make way more sense

I sent him a message a few minutes ago so i will wait for him to get back with me. Thank you very much for your help. I do not have the ecm from my 98 tahoe but i ahve one from my 98 c1500 that has a blown small block motor in it now so i have no use for it.
