Need help on choosing a torque cam for a 99 5.7 vortec. Yes its a 99

Need help choosing a cam for my dads 1999 2500 4x4.

History behind the project is that we have owned it since new now has 250,000 miles and has pulled a trailer
75 percent of its hard life. Mobil 1 full synthitic every 4000 miles. The truck has been worked hard but will be a farm truck after this repair is done.

Had a missfire on all cylinders to find that the cylinders all had less than 90 psi. Took the
motor apart to find the the rings are bad. The motor on the inside was clean no carb build up or sluge I can say that I love mobil 1.

Plan is to replace the rings and clean the walls. I will be replacing the cam, lifters, oil pump.

My dad is real low on cash so doing this as cheap as possible so if any one has some
input on a towing cam I will be glad to hear it. I do now that these vortec motors cant take a big cam so the lift cant be to high just need alittle bit better than stock to pull
    stuff around.

Best advice is call a cam manufacturer. Tell them your goals and they will put you in the right direction and tell you everything that needs to be done. Probably can sell you a whole kit and ship to your door. I don't have any experience with those so that's the best advice I can give. Hopefully some one with more knowledge will chime in for ya.
