    finally starting my lq4 swap in my 85 c10

    I finally got my lq4 and I am trying to figure out what manual trans I should go with I am going to be towing so more of play around with so.any suggestions would be great and i have a 2000 lq4 thanks

    Maybe you should look at the later model Chevy/GMC manual trans that came in the NBS trucks. Decent trannies with overdrives. Something your '85s possible 3.73:1 gears would like.

    Good luck mating a manual Trans to that 2000 LQ4 pretty sure that's the one with the longer crank snout that gives everyone hell when installing a few have done it but it takes a little work

    I have the tremec 3450 from Rockland Standard Gear.It is a 5 speed and a replacement for the getrag that came in 1988-2004. 1st gear is low. It is good for towing but you can't power shift like a T56.

    Cone killer is that just for the stock crank I was thinking about going to aftermarket one

    Yup had a buddy just put a 5.3 crank in a 2000 lq4 with milled heads and his 4L60 bolted right up

    ok cool i thinking about making my a 408 stroker so i will have to make it a 4.000 stroke so in theory i could bolt a t-56 up to it then
