Hello, I have a 88 2wd c5100 with a 5.7 TBI that I would like to swap to a 5.3L. I am looking for someone that has done this swap with suggestions and general info, step by step possibly? Will the th400 bolt up, wiring, fuel pump etc.? thanks.

the swap is pretty easy. start searching through all the threads. pretty much everything you need to know is on this site.

Craig 4173: I'm doing a very similar swap, so if you every want to chat or exchange info, feel free to get a hold of me or look at my starting threads that I'm getting going. Because I got the 4l60e transmission with my donor motor, I decided to not go the rout of converting the old transmission, but I don't think you will have a lot of trouble using yours. Your transmission will need some mods and there is a tone of information on it (at least with the 700r4). We might be in the same boat with everything else. Here are a few possible fuel pumps to look into that will supposedly drop into your tank:
High Pressure In-Tank Fuel pump: HFP 255LPH Fuel Pump Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4x4 1988 - 1995
(SKU: HFP-343) from High Flow Performance http://www.highflowfuel.com/i-478354...1988-1995.html 1-805-308-6067 $78.98 (The sales people here told me this pump wold work perfectly, but sales people say funny things some times. It's sort of on the cheap side, too, which makes me suspicious).
Then there is the AC Delco EP381 http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-EP381-.../dp/B000C9SHOU . It supposedly drops right in too, and it's around $60 on Amazon.
If your motor has a single fuel line, then you will need to plumb in the regulator. This is what most people use - a Corvette fuel regulator PN: WIX-33737, @Summit for $45.00.
Here is a good link to setting up the fuel system - it might apply: .
This link also has a good photo story that includes info on transmission conversions and fuel systems, but it's rather vague when it comes to parts: http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/1111t.../photo_06.html
Best of luck!
