    408 Stroker ?'s

Well when i put the motor in my truck i guess i didn't seat the o-ring properly for the oil pump so i ended up with not enough oil pressure. so what i've been thinking is i want to pull the motor back out YAY! and get it honed and checked and whatever it needs to be repaired new bearings and whatnot and i was wanting to get a forged 408 rotating assembly.

what am i looking at as far as parts i'll need other then the main rotating assembly?

Any special machine work to make the 408 parts fit? the block is a stock 2002 iron 6.0L right now.

who has the best prices on stuff as far as complete rotating assembly?

Possibly need to clearance the block for the rods. Buy your assembly first, take your pistons with you to the machine shop. Have them bore it out to what the piston specifies.

well i've been looking around at the rotating assemblys and for what its gonna cost to have the block machined and parts its just as easy to buy a complete short block and swap everything over.

anyone know any good dealers for that sort of thing?

i just got off the phone with the guy at AES engines and i'm 90% sure i'm going to have them build a forged 390 for me, he was super helpful and even offered to degree the cam for me if i shipped it up to him just to make sure it was right. now i just have to wait for the government to give me back my taxes and i'll have a big crate headed my way lol
