(general chevy drivetrain tips)really hated getting smoked bye ecoboost{4 door} f-150

just picked up an 06 rado rcsb z71. the owner before me put some lift blocks in the back so it kinda looks like a 70`s maro if ya know what i mean. anyways ive owned these 5.3 chevs for the past 10 yrs. now and ive done tons of research and im deff. a qualified welder/fabricator. Thing is im not worried about getting more power from my motor since there is sooo much you can do with ls platforms, what id like to know is how to improve the transfer of this power. im up to date on the 4l80 swap, ive just really grown tired of these 4 speeds. So is it worth the labor to get a manual in or perhaps the newer trans like a 6l80? id like to use the truck for daily driving/stalking yet be able to blow some doors. also if anyone has some info on what my pushbutton 4x4 can handle. i plan on some hpower upgrades but nothin to rich for the blood since ill have to make most of it and go by trial and error. One thing is for sure im pretty chapped about torque managment, barely being able to do a burnout with a truck unloaded is pretty sad, even more so when everyones watching you leave somewhere when your pissed, cuz we all know a good tire roach helps anger issues. as for power upgrades i was planning my own bolt on turbo system that ive had planned for 2 yrs. now, life and law keeps it on hold but its comin. once i get it rippin in my truck i would love to share the ford/dodge shredding love for an actual "reasonable price" it dont take 6 grand to get a baseline turbo setup i flippin know that. if it was all aerospace alloys well then money is a factor.. 3500$ intercooled package! start the discount revolution i will, but with good quality stuff. hell sts turbos should not cost that much for 5-7 lbs.with no cooler... oh and id like to know if you can remove the torque managment without an hp tuner or similar $500 software. horsepower used to be built by crafty semi geniuses with very little money for the goal of victory,or just to be the biggest nastiest nut sack on the block . i will make it happen. i just suck in the trans dept.(no real experience, seems like to much i could F$#% up) love to hear some feedback, signed the next real budget power provider. all feedback is w

Well that rant was rather difficult to understand, but here we go with couple answers. In order to make good power and do a proper build hptuners or efilive will be necessary. I would recommend finding a very good tuners to do this work for you. Not sure on your location, but Nelson performance is a very popular mail order option if you don't have anyone local. This could save you money in the long run.

The cheapest possible budget turbo build would be in the 4000$ range. That would be a low boost build with fuel pump and injectors upgrades. However, you really can't cut corners with FI.

These stock 60e trans will not hold big power, but an 80e should do alright. A manual or 6speed auto swap is not recommended as the cost is too much for the very mild gains.

I would start very slow in your case. Start with an eBay CAI, a custom tune, and catback exhaust. Then go from there.

We've seen more than one turbo build done for under 2500$.

You just need to get a good tune to start off with.

Your 4hi will take quite a bit of abuse actually, well in a straight line anyway. I'm cutting fairly respectable 1.7 60' on Factory 20's and street tires. And I usually shift out to 2hi on the fly. Never personally use Auto 4.

...and getting burned by Eco boost... well just get used to that, unless you have a very well setup truck and/or at least fairly serious mods. Those Eco boost f150's can easily lay down mid 300awhp and well over 500awtq, JUST WITH A TUNE, mostly to double their boost. I've seen it first hand in person here. Forced induction... yeah apparantly there is replacement for displacement, haha.
    Shralp' it heavy.
