    Exclamation fuel problem HELP!!!

    when i try to start the truck it runs for a few seconds under moderate throttle then the fuel pressure drops and it dies.

    its a new harness
    new walbro 255 pump with ractronix hotwire kit
    using an autometer gauge

    when i turn the truck on it primes to liek 49 psi when i crank it starts to drop and sometimes will run 2-10 seconds then the pressur drops to about 20 psi and it cuts off. if i leave it on after priming while not trying to crank it sits there and creeps down maybe 1 psi every 10 seconds or so. could the regulator be bad?

    before i pulled my old motor i ran it with this pump and it seemed to hold up fine but under high boost i was having pressure drop so i dont know where to start really.

    i wouldnt think a brand new walbro would be bad?

    need some help on this one

    edit: its also smells like its pumping out a good amount of fuel when it is running

    i had a similar issue on mine and once it was the fuel pump, once it was the regulator. btw.. that truck sounds beastly in the garage..

    haha yeah it rang my ears with just the open headers and scared a few dogs.

    so how do i check the regulator? i tried hooking it up and unhooking it and it seems to make no difference. it was all pulled and ran before i bought the engine could it have went bad just sitting there or maybe because it was dry for so long with no fuel in it?

    i checked the voltage to the pump and the ground and both are fine so i dont think thats the problem.

    is there a way to check the regulator without having to go get another one? i googled it but all i found were people testing while the engine was running and mine wont run that long lol.

    i think you can remove one of the lines of the regulator and see if it pisses fuel..
