Charcoal canister for evap under hood, keep or remove?

Can I remove the round coffee can evap canister under the hood or remove it and plug off the line going to the tank?

I kept it .I read somewhere if you disconnect you will sometimes get a gas smell.

Dont plug it.. just route it back into your intake tubing. Otherwise there will be no vapor relief for the tank and when you take the lid off it will literally blow off! I did that for awhile and then decided to route it back into my intake. Works fine and no gas smell
