    6.0 build

So I picked up a complete lq4 and I'm swapping the pistons and rods with the flat tops from a lq9 and will be running some l92 heads should I mill the heads and or leave them be I'm trying to stay on pump gas so what could I mill these to and still be alright

From my research when I was considering milling my heads, dynamic compression ratio is more of a determining factor in what octane to run. DCR will always be different the SCR. I won't get into the whole thing but here's a link to some info I found. http://cochise.uia.net/pkelley2/DynamicCR.html
I killed my heads to get an 11:1 SCR but my DCR is still in the safe range for pump gas.

good info, thanks for the link

on a side to the op, i used to run a lq9 with l92/ls3 heads, what got me to a 11.1 which is vert well suitable for pump gas is i milled my heads .015 and used a .040 gasket thickness, the cam i ran was a 232/238/612/609 lift then a 235/239/621/621 lift both were on a lsa of 113+1

now the cams were designed around a FAST 102 intake with cnced hand ported heads. will the cam work for you ? yes but it wouldnt be optimal unless your heads were cnced and ported!

I'm gonna run a gmpp efi intake I was told porting these l92 head would be alittle to much for my app the cam I'm running is a 231/236 594/602 111lsa

if you run that intake you would want to port the heads! that intake luvs rpms, are you willing to spin the motor pass 7K if not i wouldnt go with that intake, reason being thats where its gonna make its most power, that cam isnt a custom spec is it? looks like a nice cam if you plan on not doing any work to the heads, but doesnt look optimal for the intake ? youd want alittle more lift and the lsa at lease on a 113+1

what throttle body you plan on running? also you plan on using a elbow? even worse idea if you are, unless you have plans going forced induction later on ?

No just nitrous maybe I have a eldebrock 90 and a 92 mm billet Dbc tb. The l92 flow like 322cfm intake and 214 Cfm exaust so you think I should still port them and do plan to spin in up in the Rpms I have the cts vr lifters and looking for some 1.8 roller lifters to raise the lift alittle

lets back up, i apoligize i hadnt been keeping up with your build muchless whats it going in, i really dont know what youre after or wanting to gain, take it for what its worth i went this route, just with a FAST intake, but i do know how the gmpp vic jrs perform on a NA setup,im guessing you also ready have this cam? your stock rockers will work fine, i actually still run the stockers just with the trunion upgrade, your heads do they have the solid SS valves or they the ls3 valves? if theyre the truck valves id get them changed, there too heavy for the rpms you'll need. what springs you plan on running ? i ran prcs, mind you i floated a valve around 7200 BUT i did a back to back nitrous run without taking cool down into concideration, i blame a friend for that lol!!

its doable to reach over 400, id seriously look into valves from a the ls3 heads specially at anything over a 7k rpm limit! youll deffinitely surprise them but take into concideration your price might come as a repair bill in the long run!!

what size exhaust do you have? headers ?
