    Spark plugs and Boost 101

Lets talk ,What sparks are u running /engine size and Boost?

    I'm currently running Ngk TR5 on 6.0/12-14#

But was told they are still too hot, like stock heat range? Confused there I know there's a boost /Ngk chart somewhere but not gonna bother to find it, plus real world experience is better.

I ordered a set of TR7 so going to try them out.

NGK br7ef gapped at .032" 4.8 will see a ton if boost might have to gap the plugs tighter but I'll first see how much boost till spark blows out

    That plug is HOT!

    I run a br8ef (NGK1049) or even a -9. Definitely get a non-projected tip plug in there. Atleast a -7(br7ef). That's still a fairly hot plug though.

ya, u need to step back a bit. at a minimum go to a tr6, but a 7 heat range would be safer. you want to go with the coldest plug possible, that still runs well. if plug is too cold it will not idle or run low speeds well. I run mine colder than I should, but its a safety thing.

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

    Agreed.

BUT, the beauty of fuel injection is you can tune for the crappy idling of the colder plugs.

    I still run tr6 plugs at .026".
Never any detonation. Never a burned tip. Etc.
    22psi plus.

All I'm saying is. Do what ur engine wants.
