need help with 5.3 build

Well like the title says im doing a build and want some advice. im picking up a 2000 5.3 for $200 complete intake to pan was running when pulled but was loosing coolant but they couldnt figure out where it was going. its got 862 heads on it now. first thing im gona strip it all down and get everything checked for cracks. this motor will be built for one of my thirdgen fbodys with a t56 behind it. ive been thinking about doing a iron 5.7 with some 243/799 heads ls6 intake maybe around 11:1 cr if i could make a solid usable 400+whp id be happy. hope to push the car into the low 7s in the 1/8th on motor but still be able to drive it to and from work. the car has a hot cammed 5.3 now so the hard part of the swap is already done. im going to sell the pan intake and injectors thats on the motor now to help get some money back. well sorry for the rambling on but any advice would be awesome.

I'm almost done with my iron 5.7 build. It hasn't been difficult, just time consuming. If I had to do everything over again I'd prob just get a 6.0 with some small cc heads. At the end of the day it will be cheaper. If you decide to do the iron 5.7 it'll be different, just a lil more time consuming.

yeah id like a 6.0 but around here people think the are worth a fortune even with a ton of miles.
