Double check my rebuild parts list?
So, seeing as my cylinder wall is most likely repairable I've been going through and building a parts list. All of you experienced guys please let me know what parts I'm missing or even anything else you suggest I get. Here it goes:
Bore block to 3.898--$200
Stock used 2002 LS1 rods/pistons 40K miles--$100
Used 241's (100k mi) with PRC Double springs (8k mi)--$200 (gettin them milled slightly)
ARP Head Bolt kit--$110
TrickFlow MLS head Gaskets .045in.-- $144
Header Bolts--$16
ASSembly lube--$8
Thread Sealer--$8
New plugs--$20
New fluids--$75
I'm looking to keep this engine NA for quite a while so I'm lookin for a little bit higher compression. What do ya'll think, get the heads milled .02-.03 and have a low 10:1 comp?
When funds get right I'll look into either forged dome pistons or a 6.0 swap all together.
Remember, any input good or bad is appreciated. This is only the second engine I've rebuilt, and the first LS based.
