    cam and head swap 243 heads and ls6 cam

    Hello new member here I have a couple of questions.I'm been think about installing Ls2 heads a ls6 cam and wondering is this a good combo need advice! Its going on a 03 denali lq4 thanks please reply

    Second question how much of a shot is safe for that setup?

    Short answer, yes its a good combo but i would get a little bigger cam, dont think you will notice too much difference with the z06 cam. JMO. Im not a nitrous expert but the answer I most often see to your nitrous question is that a 150 wet shot is about the limit to feel "safe" with that set up.
    99 silverado 2500 4x4 ec lb, lq4 with 243 heads, pace setter long tubes, true duals with x pipe and bullet mufflers, comp 222 224 112 cam, 8.1 truck injectors, 4l80e with 2800 stall, 373 gears, 285 75 16 tires, efi live tune in progress, 350rwhp 360tq, 11.8 average mpg mixed driving

    I feel safe with 150-175. Many have run 200 on stock shortblocks, but I won't. The Z06 cam you're talking about isn't big enough to be worth the time in my opinion. The LS2 heads however (243 casting) are going to give you a nice noticeable bump in compression.

    Ok thanks for the help ill scrap the zo6 cam and get a comp cam just making sure got it dirt cheap from a friend. So with the following will I be seeing numbers around 450 HP with LT,s 243 head's comp springs, cold air intake and of course a big comp cam with a 150 zex wet shot?

    with a 150 shot you'll be close.

    Probably be closer to 500 on the ground depending on cam choice.
