    v6 to 383??

just curious... how hard is it to take a NBS 4.3 truck & swap in a SBC?
i did the 5.3 swap in mine & had to change over to all the LS stuff.
since the 4.3 is small block design, i know all the accessories would swap... how about the mounts? would the harness have to change?

i'm just wondering about a future project idea

Pretty sure the mounts on the 4.3's are the same as 350 sbc.. The harness would more then likely have to be changed out. I don't see it causing any issues, or being any harder then what you did already with your truck

yeah... i remember Mykk had a 355 or 357 in his truck at one point, but i never saw much about the build.

it's just that V6/5 speed 2wd trucks are so freakin easy to find - it's be easy to get a platform to build on. i'm thinkin T56 while i'm at it...

    4.3 to SBC

I was wondering the same thing too. Will the computer still allow the thing to run ? How do ya fool the comp with air/fuel? Or do ya set it up race car style w/buttons and switches Ha.
    Will the speedo still work?

the 4.3 motor mount pads are the same as the traditional SBC, but they're closer to the trans on the 4.3, so what you'd need is a set of plates from Advance Adapters. They run $80/pair. They're intended for SBC into 4.3 S-10, but it'd be the same deal here.

Only question is, why? Not like it's easier than the LS swap.
