sounds like you have two problems
that i do and they are very seperate issues. bat and alt work fine, sounds like its the guage,, is there a cheap fix or can i put a remote guage in my pillar?

step motors are bad about missing up in those clusters.thats prolly why ur gauge doesn't work.

Aftermarket gauge would probably be cheaper but what if you start having more troubles out of your cluster/ or what ever is causing your troubles
are they easy to replace, never done one before

yeah takes about 10 mins.when you buy a new 1 you have to take it to dealer so they can reprogram it.they have to take miles out of old cluster and put in the new one.unless you get a used one.the miles won't be same but some ppl don't care.if you get a used one make sure the numbers on back of cluster match yours cuz if it don't more than likely its different and won't work
