I will keep it simple since I just joined, but I had to start somewhere......I just recently acquired a project in a trade that really got my wheels turning, due to the fact that I used to be an old chevy owner....1960 chevy......but what I have is somebody elses project that they did not finish which is a shame......1966 chevy c-10 long wheel base, and they apparently attempted to mate it on top of a 2002 chevy frame from a wreck that had a tree fall on it....the truck only had 20,000 on it at the time of the incident so this is a pretty new frame and running gear.....the 66 is not in bad shape, it has the normal rust but not in the usual places like the roof for one.....but other than that...it is a really solid truck.....they apparently were going to take all the goodies loosed from the 2002 and make them acceptable to use in the 66 but never finished....everything is there computer, harness, air conditioning.....I mean everything.........What do I do? I dont have a nice shop to work out of or the intelligence to try and tackle all of the wiring they have laying in the cab wjhich is still connected to the frame and engine......not sure what i have......thanks....anyone in the vicinity of Saint CLoud Florida give me a yell and you can see it for yourself.....407-908-1990
Had they actually mounted the cab and bed to the frame or do they just have it sitting on top of it? Looks like the gap between the two is a little wide.
yes, they have the cab mounted but the bed is not.....although the cab looks a little crooked also, I think it wont be much of a problem to correct.....maybe a cool project to pick away at.....
I'd like to see what sort of mods they had to do to the cab to make it fit the frame. Is the frame modified to fit the wheelbase or were they the same to start with?
