    97' Ford F150 v6 5 speed conversion

Well this is pretty much set that I am going to be putting a LQ4 / 4l60 (or) 80e setup in my 97' F150. I have some quick questions regarding harnesses. Would a Fbody or Truck harness be easier to modify for my application, and if so, who could do those modifications? Also, The truck is a 5 speed, and I will be converting the pedals to auto pedals, but need a good solution to a shifter. Ideas?

    Thank you!

I will add that this particular truck is the lightest F150 made, at ~3900lbs and also has a factory 8.8, 3.55 gears and LSD. I should be a fun swap.

Harness: I think Nelson sells a harness.
Shifter: Any after market 4 speed shifter for an auto should work.

Resurrecting this thread. Has there been any progress. I'm thinking of building an aluminum 5.3 for my '97 F150. The motor is approximately the same weight as the iron block/aluminum headed V6. So no suspension changes. I paid very little for the very clean, low mileage truck. Ford had intake manifold sealing problems on the '97-'98 4.2s. Instant hydrolock on about 250,000 units and counting. I'm going to run it on gas using the Edelbrock 4bbl manifold and MSD ignition. Then as soon as it's broken in, I'll be running propane so there will never be a fuel injection conversion. My local county smog police say if it passes the sniffer and retains the cats, they'll pass it. Should be a breeze with propane.

Anyway, I'd like to see if this project got off the ground. Love to see how it's mounted.
