hey everybody. i know u guys told me to save for a custom tune but im horrible with money and i found a jet performance module for 50 bucks on craigslist and i looked on the website and it claims 25 hp. It came off a 96 vortec which means it will work for mine right? should i get it?

I would have to say you better ask for a part number and see if it will work on your truck.... lol doubt it though

I doubt the 96 programmer will work on your 99. They don't have the same PCM.
96,97 were the same, 99 had the same looking computer as the 96,97 models but was a different # so that crappy module on craigslist will be no good to you. If your going to do anything with your computer let someone tune it for you those modules and programmers you get from the big companies only help (very little I might add ) at WOT and thats it. So why not have it tuned and have gains thru out from idle to WOT.
