    some tips for a 5.3

well im sorta new here i posted a while back in the newbie section.

ive got a 2001 Z71 extcab got 160k on it and it has the 5.3
the post where i introduced my self i was complaning of mustangs.
messing with me and trying to race me all the time .

cobras an gts all that good stuff heh.

i have no mods done except for a stero system

someone responded to my intro post saying " I give you a couple months before you start seeing em in your rear view more often"

well where could i start simple stuff first no cams or superchargers yet lol.

i can spend some money here an there if had to 300$ at a time

should i start with a tuner to see how i whould like it ? cia? ls1 80mm tb? vette server for better shifting?

hello, i would do a cam swap, i got an ls6 cam and i have never done a swap before, i just tore into the motor and the guys on the site have been more than helpful, they will get you through the tough times. also i got a spectre intake for 105 bucks and had a guy weld up a flowmaster for 150. it made a good difference. i can send you the site for the intake it was the cheapest i could find. goodluck and welcome to the site.

Since your truck is a little heavy, I would do some gears first. Some 4.10's.

    Start with gears
    then cat back exhaust
then headers and cold air intake
then trans servo/shift kit and torque converter upgrade
    then cam with tune
    then some 243 heads
