    Front Coil to Coilover Conversions

I would really like to scrap my coil springs which are big and heavy for a tuneable front suspension using a set of quality coilover shocks.
I was wondering if anybody has seen any kits for sale for this or if anyone knows where to find the coilovers and mounts that can be welded inplace of the front coilspring suspension.

Where's Jon? I know he's done coilover conversions on t-bar trucks. I can't see it being too difficult.

if not mistaken new lower and upper control arms would need to be made. i asked engineers from strange and i think qa and they pretty much ignored me, basically thought i lost my mind about asking such question for a truck lmfao!!

i have talked to madman racing, it can be done BUT i would suspect it to be very pricey!!!

IMO, Spend the money on some nice sway bars and some good adjustable shocks, maybe some hotchkis or eibach springs.

I plan on building a set of control arms to begin with, i'm just trying to find the coilovers. I work in a machine shop that uses alot of different grades of steel and other alloys. I can get chomemoly, stressproof, heat treated, and all other kinds of specialty materials. and i can get them at cost prices. but we don't sell coilover shocks. and i haven't found any that can hold 1k static weight each

have your truck scaled, this way you will know the weight at all 4 corners, thats what i did, when i had the 4 link scaled, so now i know what each corner of my truck weighs this is how coil springs can be chosen, the shocks will be chosen on travel and ride height and extension and so forth.

yeah, i'm learning all of this, i think i'm going to switch to a rear mounted fuel cell first before i try to convert the rear end to coil over, as for the front, i'm getting a set of stock upper and lower control arms to use as patterns for jig building to makes some tubular control arms, and i'll try making two sets of lowers. one for coilover and one set for coilspring. then i can go with either of them.
