Well i did the 00 to 02 PCM swap today Yehaa!!!!! Man i should of done this long ago. Went out and did some logging and the most KR i seen was .9* Kr and that was just once. So i guess 00 pcm's had false knock problems too. Before I would get anywhere from 5* to 8* KR at WOT. Now all i have to do is stop the blinking battery light. But I can put up with that until iI get a chance to fix it. Now iI need to have it Dynoed again to see how much HP I was losing.
    Thanks Allen

No problem Jerry, I'm glad it worked out for you!!

I've been doing more and more of these and they are turning out great, the 99 and 2000's just seem to lack the ability to take in lots of timing.
I did another one as well today, it was ross, his 2000 whipple charged truck didn't seem to like the 42lbs, ls6 cam and more boost, now it seems to run a lot better.

Don't get me wrong, the 99 and 00's see just as much power increase over the stock tune as the 02's do, but for those who are seeing wierd problems like excessive knock, might want to consider this.

I can get rid of the ses code from the no wire, or I can send you a wire and pcm terminal and you can purchase the later model alternator connector.

Since the conversion is basically a new tune/pcm, I'm only charging the difference between the 99 and 02 cost for existing customers, if anyone was curious.

    thanks,

I can't believe what a huge difference in drivability the PCM Swap made! There is another tread on the site that has the part number for the '02 alternator clip. I think he said the price was $14ish.

I hope I get the same fuel mileage increases you and your father-in-law got.

Thanks again Allen, if I haven't thanked you enough already.

Let me get this right. Swapping from a 99 PCM to an 02 PCM will yield even greater power gains?? Or is it just a solution for people who have a knock problem?

Well i was getting anywhere from 5* to 8* KR at WOT from false knock, so now that there's no KR that means more timing which = more hp. Instead of 8* timing @ WOT i have 16*. Probably one of the best mod you can do on a 99 or 00 truck.

Hmmm...interesting. I've so far loved the tune I got, it'd kick ass to get an even better one.
