    here it is,
i have a 93 1500 with a 4.3 and a 4L60e. i want to swap the 4.3 for a 6.0 or a 5.3 which ever i have the oprotunioty to get first. i see that i am not the only one with this idea. i am planning on using the gen 3 gauges out of the donner truck to replace my stock gauges. will i be able to run my orriginal 4L60E or will i need to swap it for a 4L80e or 60E out of the donner truck? what are the major things i should be aware of before starting this swap, motor mounts, wiring problems, ect... thanks

My truck is a 91 and had the TBI with the 700R tranny. I swaped in a LS1/T56, but I had acces to the donor car which is mine and is wrecked. So I used alot of stuff of the car:

02 LS1/T56 with wiring harness and PCM....

Some of the stuff I had to buy were:
A Vortech fuel pump which drops right into the fuel tank and supports any GEN III
    S&P adapter plates.
    Custom Fuel lines.

And thats really about it. Whichever motor you get I recomend you have Allen burn you the PCM is about the cheapest tunning around and the guy is great (He's STS's tuning man&#33 He'll get rid of VATS, change your tires, your fans kick on temp, and even add a few more horses. Just tell him you're part of LS1truck.com

I reused my driveshaft, tranny crossmember, radiator and a e-fan from a buick, lol. I'm not done with lights and gauges yet. Last but not least I had to work my own wiring harness is not that complicated to understand but it is time consuming.
    Had a 91 SB, Open diff, 3.08 gears, stock LS1/T56. 14.8@95.9...sold.
    Now, 90 C1500 350tbi/NV3500....just bought a 5.3...need T56, Swap parts.....
