    gauge cluster lighting issues

Hi all. I came out to my truck this evening and found the instrument cluster lights on, along with the battery light. My truck has one of those light switches that have an auto setting which is where it stays all of the time. It is -20 C today so it killed my battery. I boosted it, got it running for a while, shut it off and the lights are on again. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a defective ignition switch since that stuff isn't supposed to be on unless the key is on.

I thought that too, but only the back lighting is on and the battery light. All of the other lights and indicators that normally come on when you turn on the ignition, don't light up. I can dim the lights so they go completely off, but the battery light stays on. I replaced the battery (it is 4 years old, so not a bad idea anyway) and still the same. Being that it is Christmas eve, I am out of luck for the next few days anyway.

Left the battery disconnected for a week and the problem seems to have gone away for now. Also cleared "service tire monitor" code. I'll see if it comes back....
