question about a 3000 stall converter, how will a conveter make you lose hp but make you truck quicker...and if it takes away hp will it make it slower in the long run

I suppose a verter takes power away low end when you go with a larger, LOOSER one. But the whole point of going with a larger LOOSER verter is because you may have installed a larger cam and or heads. Since you did this install, now your power band has gone up in your rpm band, and you may have vary well lost power in your lower rpm. So now that you have a higher stall, you can flash the verter at a higher rpm to take advantage of this new found power, and if everything goes right you will slap the verter right where you start to make good torque and hp. This with a compliment of the right size ring and pinoin will make you fly!
