5.3 Swap To Lq9 With L92 Heads Any One Done It Yet?

Getting ready to swap out my 5.3 in my 03 sierra for a lq9 maybe use the l92 heads ive heard they flow very well. Im pretty sure im gonna stroke it to a 427, but not sure if the l92 heads will work on the lq9 block and intake and for that matter if the 6.0 will mount right in or the intake will work with my truck at all ?

Cant make a 6.0 a 427 (unless you sleeve the block). Cant use L92 heads with a stock truck intake... you need the L92 intake.

LQ9 isn't aluminum. LQ9 just has different pistons than the LQ4. Same iron block, just different pistons. The LQ9 can be bored to a 408 though.

True the lq4 uses dished pistons(9.41ratio) where the lq9 uses flat tops(10.1)ratio . I know the l92 heads are great for these motors and they bolt right up, and i'd rather run the L92 intake anyways since it flows better as long as i can make it work in my truck is what im wondering. My question with the lq4 or 9 is knock senors and the reluctor wheel, if i have to do any modifing or not?

the l92 and every other head have different intake port designs, so you have to run a l92 intake with l92 heads, and the other truck intake with every other head. make sense?

but yes, the l92 heads and intake will bolt right up to a 6.0 block and work great in your truck
