    MAF calibration?

Should I change the stock MAF settings (Mass Air vs Output freq) ?

I noticed on all the different tunes I've downloaded that people generally increase the #s on the MAF table. I don't have a ported MAF, but I have a CAI. I'm trying to chase down a pinging problem when I "walk" on the throttle while cruising. Thinking it's running lean, so change MAF settings?

I promise I'll get a wireless card for my laptop so I can show U guys my logs

Have a stock 5.3 MAF hooked up to a LS6 engine. HPTuners vcm suite.

if you have a w/b then run a custom histogram with MAF actual vs. AFR... I think there is a preloaded histogram actually for your PCM... use this data to correct your curve.

I'd recommend puttin it in OL anyway and polishin off the VE just because... and do this first.
    02 Sierra... motorless for now.

I changed it last weekend to match one that I found on the repository. I'm starting to understand all this stuff. The new MAF settings just changed my fuel trims.

I don't have a wideband. I think I'm gonna put it to bed for winter and gather up some headers etc.

I did get internet on my laptop to work, but I lost my log file otherwise I'd post it up

Yes, you should change it to correct for fuel.
If you're getting pinging, try using the stock timing table and see if it goes away.

GM runs their truck at 14.7 from idle all the way to wot with no pinging, at least most of the time, so it's probably not a lean condition, unless the engine is really lean, in that case, it probably doesn't feel strong.

If you don't have a wideband, use the ltrims and o2's to tune for now.
Granted they aren't anywhere near as accurate, but they will help and have their purpose.

Tuning MAF without tuning VE is pointless , most do VE then MAF because a VE that is off only skews the MAF .
    Maybe timing ?
Now what is a tune again?
