ok i have the basic mods CAI, cut out maf, exhaust and a cookie cutter tuner from quadzilla. Im about to ditch that tuner and get a custom tune through nelson in the next week then my plan was trans build up then cam and retune. When should i think about guages to moniter my truck? if i even need any so im not about to blow it up??
No real need for any until you go to a power adder. Then fuel pressure, AFR, boost, nitrous pressure, etc are helpful. Of course if you happen to just like gauges (like me), nothing wrong with throwing some on if you just want to at this point. Not going to hurt anything.

You could always get an interceptor to monitor the majority of the functions. Allen sells those as well
