Smile 71 chevy truck 5.3 nv4500 clutch master cylinder question

Hello to all, I put a 5.3 in my 71 3/4 ton work truck. I went with a 96 nv4500 5 speed. This model has the internal slave. I am looking at the stock all plastic master cylinder and do not care for it at all. I would like to find a cast iron unit that can be made to work. Some issues are metric threads, and should it be mounted on the drivers side of the steerng collumn? Will have to move some electrical. Could mount on the engine side, but is close to the engine. What are my options. I know most guys dont like the nv4500, but this is a daily driver work truck. Thanks for all coments and understanding. Alan

how about a wilwood aluminum master cyl? you can get lots of different mounts for them, maybe mount it under the dash inside the cab. like a stock car
